Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how BasePerp ("BasePerp," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the BasePerp website, interfaces, and related pages that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with it, you should not access or use the Services. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you understand the practices described here.
Decentralized networks notice. The Services may enable you to interact with public blockchains and smart contracts that are not owned or operated by BasePerp. This Privacy Policy applies to information processed by BasePerp through the Services, but it does not govern data processed by blockchain networks, wallet providers, or other third parties, including information that becomes publicly available on-chain.
1) Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy to reflect updates to the Services, evolving legal requirements, or changes in our practices. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. If changes materially affect your privacy rights, we may provide additional notice in an appropriate manner. Continued use of the Services after an update means the revised Privacy Policy applies.
2) Age requirement
The Services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from minors. If you believe a child has provided Personal Data to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
3) Key definitions
"Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked (directly or indirectly) to a particular individual. It does not include data that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual.
"Controller" means the party that determines why and how Personal Data is processed.
4) Who is responsible for processing (Controller)
BasePerp is the Controller for Personal Data processed through the Services within the scope of this Privacy Policy.
Questions or requests can be sent to: contact@baseperp.org.
5) Information we collect
5.1 Information you provide
Depending on how you use the Services, you may provide:
- Contact details (e.g., name, email address) if you submit a contact form, request support, or subscribe to communications;
- Communications you send to us (e.g., questions, feedback, and message content);
- Any other information you choose to provide through the Services.
5.2 Wallet, transaction, and blockchain-related information
If you connect a wallet or interact with the Services, we may process information such as:
- Public wallet addresses and related identifiers;
- Transaction data that is publicly available or required to display Service functionality (e.g., transaction hashes, timestamps, asset amounts, sender/recipient addresses);
- Activity data connected to your interactions with the Services (for example, usage flows or referral attribution where the feature uses a referral link or code).
We do not ask for, and you should never share, your private key, seed phrase, or recovery phrase. If any person or website requests these credentials, do not provide them.
5.3 Data collected automatically
When you visit or use the Services, we (and vendors that help us operate the Services) may automatically collect:
- Device and network data (e.g., IP address, browser type/version, operating system, device type, language settings, approximate location inferred from IP address);
- Usage data (e.g., pages viewed, time spent, clicks, referring/exit pages, navigation paths, and interaction events);
- Log and security data (e.g., timestamps, error reports, audit logs, and signals used to protect the Services and investigate abuse).
5.4 Data from third parties and public sources
We may obtain information from:
- Public sources, including public blockchains;
- Service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, security tools) supporting the Services;
- Social/community platforms if you interact with BasePerp through those channels and share information with us.
5.5 Mandatory vs. optional information
Some information is necessary to provide specific features (for example, a connected wallet address for on-chain interactions). If required information is not provided, the relevant feature may not work. Where we clearly mark information as optional, you can choose not to provide it without losing access to core website content.
6) Cookies and similar technologies
6.1 What we use
The Services may use cookies and similar technologies ("Cookies") to support core functionality, remember preferences, analyze performance, and improve the Services.
6.2 Cookie categories
Cookies may include:
- Essential Cookies (needed for core site operations and security);
- Preference Cookies (remember settings and choices);
- Analytics Cookies (understand how visitors use the Services and improve performance);
- Attribution Cookies (help us understand which sources or campaigns brought visitors to the Services).
We do not aim to combine cookie-derived data with third-party datasets to build profiles for targeted advertising as an identifiable individual. Where advertising or tracking technologies are used, they are intended to operate at the device or campaign level rather than to identify you by name.
6.3 Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings and any controls provided within the Services. Disabling certain cookies may reduce functionality or affect how the Services perform.
6.4 Analytics
We may use analytics providers (such as Google Analytics or similar tools) to generate aggregated reports about usage of the Services and to improve performance. You can typically limit analytics cookies through browser controls and available opt-out mechanisms offered by analytics providers.
7) How we use Personal Data
We may use Personal Data to:
- Operate and maintain the Services and provide requested functionality;
- Communicate with you, including responding to requests and providing support;
- Process and display interactions relevant to the Services (for example, presenting wallet-connected views or referral tracking where applicable);
- Monitor, secure, and protect the Services, including detecting malicious activity, preventing fraud, and troubleshooting;
- Analyze and improve user experience, reliability, and performance, including testing and feature evaluation;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies;
- Create aggregated or de-identified data for reporting, analytics, and product improvement.
8) Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases, depending on the context:
- Contract / steps at your request (to provide the Services or a feature you choose to use);
- Legitimate interests (to secure, operate, and improve the Services, prevent abuse, and maintain service integrity);
- Consent (for example, where required for certain non-essential cookies or specific communications);
- Legal obligations (to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests).
9) How we share Personal Data
We may share Personal Data in the following situations:
9.1 Vendors and service providers
We may share Personal Data with third-party providers that help us run the Services (e.g., hosting, infrastructure, analytics, security, customer support). These parties are permitted to process Personal Data only to provide services to us and consistent with this Privacy Policy.
9.2 Affiliates and advisors
We may share information within our corporate group (if applicable) and with professional advisors (e.g., legal, audit, insurers, security consultants) when necessary.
9.3 Legal, safety, and enforcement
We may disclose information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect the Services, investigate or prevent abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and property of BasePerp, our users, or others.
9.4 Business transfers
If BasePerp is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, Personal Data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
9.5 Public blockchain disclosure
Blockchain transactions and related metadata may be visible to the public. We do not control public blockchain networks, and we are not responsible for how third parties may use public on-chain information.
10) Data retention
We retain Personal Data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operational needs, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary based on the type of data and the reason it is processed.
Because blockchain records are generally immutable, we usually cannot delete or modify information that has been written to a public blockchain.
11) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect Personal Data. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your wallet credentials and devices.
12) Third-party websites and services
The Services may include links to third-party websites, applications, wallets, or services. We do not control those third parties, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please review third-party privacy policies before using them.
13) International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use safeguards intended to protect Personal Data when transferred internationally (for example, contractual protections).
14) Your rights and choices
14.1 Marketing preferences
If you receive marketing emails from us, you can opt out by using the unsubscribe link (if provided) or by contacting us. Even if you opt out, we may still send non-marketing communications that are necessary for service and security purposes.
14.2 EEA/UK rights
If you are in the EEA/UK, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent (where applicable). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise applicable rights, contact us at contact@baseperp.org. We may request information to verify your identity. Please note that we may not be able to fulfill certain requests where data is stored immutably on public blockchains or where legal exceptions apply.
